TD Bank donates $3,000 to Hospital Foundation

The Portage and District Hospital Foundation was the recipient of a cheque for just over $3,000 from TD Bank, Wednesday.

Foundation executive director Erin Miller-Simpson and Enid Sweeney, client services manager for the pediatric ward were on hand to accept the cheque for $3,040.10 which was raised from a barbecue held at TD Bank over the summer.

“TD Canada Trust has given us $21,000 in the last 14 years and now (are) adding another $3,040 today,” said Miller-Simpson. “We are very, very grateful as the branch here does great work. We wouldn’t be able to do it without the community support so we also thank them for a great cause.”

The funds will be used to purchases three otoscopes for the pediatric ward of the Portage and District General Hospital, which will allow doctors to examine their ears, noses, and throats.

“TD Canada Trust worked very hard for this barbecue to be a success and we are very grateful for them and their support,” said Miller-Simpson.

TD Bank is in turn proud to give back to its communities and organizations that are near and dear to it.

“The team here in Portage la Prairie has done an absolutely fabulous job over the past 14 years raising funds to donate to the Hospital Foundation. I’m very proud of the team and very proud to support the community in which we live and which we serve,” said District Vice-President Anne Taylor. “This year they presented a cheque for just over $3,000 which is really going to help at the pediatric ward.”
